General VAT increase in Finland

The general value-added tax rate (VAT) in Finland will increase from 24% to 25.5% for products and services purchased as of 1 September 2024. From Finnair’s products this change will affect lounge access at Helsinki Airport, purchased as a travel extra, and internet access purchased for Finnish domestic flights. The new tax will be applied automatically during pricing and will be shown on the EMD receipt as well.

The increase in the general VAT rate in Finland will not affect any other Finnair services and products because the VAT rate for flight tickets and other travel extras is different from the tax rate now being changed.
