Adjustments to August - October traffic program

Hotspot

This summer will be very busy, both up in the air and at airports, and we want to assure you that our operative teams are following the situation 24/7. However, we are not immune to the congestion at airports and to the challenges which the fast recovery of air traffic is now causing. We will certainly see delays as well as some cancellations here and there during the peak travel season. Naturally our aim is to keep the impact to our customers at minimum.

Luckily, at this moment, the only two bigger changes we have had to make to our summer 2022 schedules have been the cancellation of one of the weekly Hong Kong flight due to network optimization and the afternoon flight to/from Amsterdam for July and August due to a request from Amsterdam airport authorities to the airlines to limit the number of daily passengers. This is to maintain stable operations at AMS.

We are also forced to end traffic on the summer routes to/from Zagreb and Porto at the end of July, which is a bit earlier as planned, and the Stockholm Bromma route will not be operated during the summer season at all.

Helsinki - Chicago operation will be reduced to three weekly flights in September; on those days when there will be no flight to/from ORD, we have our Dallas DFW to back it up so reroutings can be easily done via DFW.

In addition, some frequency reductions will be done on the following routes: Antalya (AYT), Malaga (AGP), Paris (CDG), Oulu (OUL).

We will automatically book a new flight/flights to the reservation when possible and update the ticket.
If the customer does not accept the change, the following options can be offered:

Changes: rebooking allowed -2/+7 days (rebook on same route, rebook to original booking class or lowest available in same cabin, no rerouting to other airline allowed).

If we have not been able to offer a solution at all (UN in PNR), customers can be rerouted to any AY marketed flight (AY*).

Refunds: cancel and refund the ticket directly in your own GDS or if that is not possible, process refund via BSP/ARC (refund of ancillary services on EMDs to be processed via BSPlink refund application)

If you are using Amadeus or Travelport (Galileo, Apollo and Worldspan) you are able to display and further perform reissue/exchange even after Finnair has reissued the original document.

All cancellations are expected to be processed to the PNRs during Thursday 23rd June.
