We fly to over 75 destinations in winter 2022

We have updated our traffic plan for winter 2022–2023, as our operating environment has changed drastically during this year, with the war in Ukraine and the subsequent closure of the Russian airspace. This will mean timing changes, date changes and unfortunately also routes cancellations, but there are also new routes which we announce in conjunction with this update.

During the upcoming winter season, we fly to over 60 short-haul destinations within Europe and to a total of 15 long-haul destinations in Asia, the Middle East and the United States. In Asia, we fly to Tokyo, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Hong Kong, Seoul, Singapore, Delhi, Mumbai, Bangkok and Phuket; in the Middle East to Dubai; and in the USA to New York, Dallas, Los Angeles and Miami. Additionally, we intend to open routes to Doha from Helsinki, Stockholm and Copenhagen and services are planned to start between November and December 2022.

In Japan, instead of Tokyo Narita, we fly daily to Tokyo Haneda, which offers our customers excellent connections to our partner’s Japan Airlines network. We cancel our flights to Krabi and Chicago, and discontinue the direct flights from Stockholm Arlanda to New York, Los Angeles, Miami, Bangkok and Phuket. We also reduce our weekly frequencies to Hong Kong, Mumbai, Bangkok, Phuket and Seoul, and make some minor changes to our flights in Europe.

Our aim is to operate a traffic plan that is as economically viable as possible. We are very sorry about the inconvenience the changes may cause to our customers’ travel plans. Flight changes will be processed in GDS by 31st of August and PNRs updated with possible alternatives. Please see detailed instructions in this article for handling the changes.
Customers affected by the cancellations are also informed directly by Finnair via email and/or SMS message if customer contact information is given in the PNR.
