Update on handling corporate customers after the introduction of new one-way fares
After the introduction of the one-way fare structure on intra-European and domestic Finland routes on the 12th of January 2021, there are some minor changes in how to make sure Finnair’s corporate customers always get the best price when travelling on Finnair.
At the same time with the introduction of the one-way fare structure on intra-European and domestic Finland routes, we have informed our corporate customers that the new one-way fares will not be discounted and that in the future corporate discounts are offered on Finnair’s long-haul routes only. Informing of the customers have been done via email/calls or online at www.finnair.com/businesstravel (for our Finnair Corporate Programme customers).
However, as part of Finnair’s corporate offering, the corporate customers will always have access to the “best price of the day” when a corporate pricing code is used. This means that from now on – even though on intra-European and domestic Finland routes the best Finnair fares are available on Finnair.com – you as an agent will be able to offer the same best Finnair fares to the corporate customer when the corporate’s pricing code is used. This way both you as an agent and Finnair ensures that the corporate customer has access to the “best price of the day” regardless of the booking channel.
Also, the Finnair Corporate Programme has been updated and the three different levels for discounts have been removed and, in the future, we will offer only one level of discounts on long-haul flights. The promise of the “best price of the day” on intra-European and domestic Finland routes applies also to Finnair Corporate Programme customers. You can read more about the updated Finnair Corporate Programme by clicking here.
- When a corporate customer has their own pricing code in use: there is no change in how to handle the corporate customer when booking Finnair’s flights. This applies to all kinds of corporate agreements, including those corporates who are members of our Finnair Corporate Programme but have their own pricing code.
- When a corporate customer is a member of the Finnair Corporate Programme and the generic pricing code has been in use, there will be a change in the pricing code. As the program will in the future have only one level of discounts, only one generic pricing code will be in use per country. Please see the generic pricing codes for Finnair Corporate Programme below and make necessary updates to eg. corporate’s profile information in the booking system.
Please keep in mind that whenever a corporate fare is used, the corporate’s client code must also be added to the booking (in OS element, eg. OS AY CMP XXX999XX).
