Entry requirements to Finland change for fully vaccinated travellers from outside of the EU and Schengen area. Travelling to Finland from the EU and Schengen area remains restricted until 30 June 2022. See more detailed instructions below. 

Finnish authorities define the entry requirements to Finland and Finnair as an airline no longer requires coronavirus certificates on flights to Finland.

Travelling from the EU or Schengen countries to Finland until 30 June 2022

Finland welcomes travel from the EU and Schengen countries with relaxed travel guidance as of 1 February 2022. Customers can arrive in Finland freely without quarantine or test upon arrival, when fulfilling one of the following conditions defined in the Communicable Diseases Act. This guidance applies also for Finnish nationals and residents. Otherwise, customer is required to take a coronavirus test upon arrival or latest 24 hours after arrival:  

  • Customer has to be fully vaccinated at least 7 days before travel.   
  • Customer was born in 2007 or later.   
  • Customer has a certificate stating that he has had a coronavirus infection within the past 6 months and are now symptomless.  
  • If customer has had one dose of vaccine, he can arrive in Finland, but needs to take a coronavirus test in 72-120 hours after arrival. The vaccination needs to be taken at least 14 days before travel.  Additionally, customer has to have a certificate of a negative coronavirus test result and take a new coronavirus test in 72-120 hours after arrival.   

The Finnish Border Guard advises on border crossing by telephone and email. The service is available in Finnish, Swedish and English on weekdays at 8-16 at 0295 420 100. Customers can also send questions by e-mail to rajavartiolaitos(at)raja.fi.

Please note that the pre-test is not required from travelers connecting to an international flight in Helsinki. This applies when a customer stays in the airside. All luggage's must be through checked-in to the final destination.
