The authorities of Thailand have removed the Thailand Pass registration scheme and a health insurance requirement of US$10,000 for foreign visitors as of 1 July 2022. All customers must have the following documents to be accepted to Finnair flight to Thailand (same rules applies when departing from Arlanda, Stockholm):

  1. A passport valid at least for the period of intended stay.
  2. A visa, if you need a visa for entering Thailand.
  3. A return or an onward ticket to another country if customer is travelling as a tourist.
  4. Vaccination certificate or a negative RT-PCR or professional ATK (Antigen Test Kit or Rapid Antigen Test) test result within 72 hours of travel.
    • These can be in a print or digital format.
    • Random checks will be made on arrivals at Thailand’s international airports or land border checkpoints.
    • Unvaccinated/not fully vaccinated travellers who are random checked and who are unable to show proof of a pre-arrival negative test will be required to undergo a professional ATK test at the point of entry.

Please make sure customer has checked all the requirements applying to him/her and that he/she has the required documents. More information here and at Finnair’s travel requirements map.

INT-INT transit flights:

As Thailand is ‘back to normal’ the rules on through check will go back to normal as well.

  • An onward flight connection in the same ticket/single PNR (as the AY ticket/PNR) within 24h and remain in the international transit area of the airport
  • Through check to low cost airlines not possible, not even if on same tkt. Pax need to check in point to point only, clear immigration, collect baggage and check-in again from joining side. Jetstar (JQ) is an exception to this rule, as Finnair has codeshare with JQ.
  • Connecting to e.g. these budget airlines is not allowed:

Angkor Air (K6), Beijing Capital Airlines (JD), Business Air (8B), Cebu Pacific (5J), Eaststar Jet  (ZE), Golden Myanmar Airlines (Y5), Indigo (6E), Jeju  Air (7C), Jet Asia (JF), Jetstar Pacific (BL), Jin Air (LJ), Lao Central Airlines (LF), Mandara  Airlines  (RI), Norwegian  Air  (DY), Okay  Airways  (BK), Orient  Thai Airlines (OX), Regent Air (RX), Scoot (TR), Shandong Airlines (SC), Shanghai Airlines (FM), Shenzen  Airlines  (SC), Siberia  Airlines  (S7), Sichuan Airlines (3U), South East Asian Airlines (DG), Spice Jet (SG), Thai Smile Airlines (WE), Thai AirAsia (FD), Thai VietjetAir(VZ), Tianjin Airlines (GS), Trans Aero (UN), Turkmenistan Airlines (T5), T’WAY Airlines (TW), Ural Airlines (U6), Vietjet Air (VJ)

INT-DOM transit flights:

  • INT-DOM transfer has resumed to normal.
  • The whole sealed route concept (PG5000) has been fully terminated.
  • Passenger and baggage can be checked through all the way to domestic destinations if connecting with PG. (PG is currently the only carrier with which Finnair has a CIQ agreement.)
  • INT-DOM transfer to budget airlines is not possible at all.
  • INT-DOM transfer to such airlines that Finnair does not have a CIQ agreement with, e.g. TG, is not allowed – through check in of baggage and passenger not possible even though TG is not a budget airline.
