The new era of Finnair Plus program and Avios in use in March 2024

We announced in August about the new era of Finnair Plus program in 2024. The program will become spend-based, and we will introduce Avios as our loyalty currency. 

The targeted timeline for the changes was late January 2024. The technical work to implement the changes across our systems has progressed well, but we still need more time to develop and test the renewed services to ensure they work smoothly. Hence, the new era of Finnair Plus will start on 9 March 2024. As of that date, Finnair Plus members will collect Avios and tier points based on purchases made with Finnair. We will also introduce new milestone benefits within tiers, and new tier limits. 

We will implement these changes into our systems over four days between 8 and 11 March 2024. Finnair Plus members do not have to do anything, but it's good to know that some of our services will be unavailable on those days. 

Finnair Plus members can reach tiers based on the number of flights until the end of February 2024. You can read more about the new era of Finnair Plus and see the updated Avios prices for award flights and travel class upgrades on Finnair.com.
