Interline baggage policy

According to Resolution 302, the Most Significant Marketing Carrier (MSMC) defines whose baggage rules and excess charges apply for the journey.

Excess baggage

  • The MSMC defines whose excess charges apply for the journey.
  • If the MSMC cannot be identified or if the excess charges of the carrier are not easily available, the airline checking in will collect its own excess baggage charges.
  • Prepaid additional baggage is possible only if all the flights are both marketed and operated by Finnair. Ticket stock can be 105 or another airline's stock.
  • If the itinerary includes flights operated by another airline, excess baggage can only be paid at the airport.

Exceptions

On Atlantic Joint Business fares and routes the MSMC of the outbound flight is the MSMC for all the journey.
