Impact of the situation in Belarus on our flights

Hotspot

We are suspending operations on Belarusian airspace for the time being. In accordance with Traficom’s recommendation, we avoid airspace in Belarus. We are following the situation closely and will update any new information on this page. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause and do our best to minimize the effects to passengers.

Flight information is up to date in GDS.

We have suspended our codeshare on Belavia's flights between Helsinki and Minsk until further notice. The reason for this change is that Belavia is operating in Belarusian airspace and Finnair does not use Belarusian airspace at the moment. We will contact all the customers who have bookings on those flights via SMS and/or e-mail.

If a connecting flight is missed due to a delayed first flight, Finnair will re-route passengers to their destination. As availability of alternative flights is limited, re-routing may take time. Thank you for your patience. To discuss about other re-routing alternatives, we kindly ask you to contact our Agent Helpdesk.

You can check passenger rights here.

Customer policy for AY-operated flights (longer flight time):

  • Book with confidence -policy applies.
  • Finnair will reroute all missed connections (e.g., if GZP-HEL flight is delayed and connx flight HEL-OUL is missed)

Customer policy for AY-codeshare flights B26601/2 HEL-MSQ-HEL:

  • Full refund OK, rebooking or rerouting not allowed.
  • In case of refund, OS AY FULL REFUND DUE TO USE OF BELARUS AIRSPACE SUSPENDED must be inserted to the booking.
