All ticket types extended to all booking classes

News

We are happy to announce that starting from 15th of June, we extend the availability of all our three fare brands Flex, Classic and Light to all booking classes. This is a change which will bring a lot of new fares to the market – and means more choice for our customers! Our offering will now be more unified across markets.

For our customers the main benefit is that there will be much more to choose from when deciding what kind of a ticket type is the best for their needs:

  • Light for traveling on set dates and flights without a checked bag
  • Classic for more flexibility with an option for travel date changes and a checked bag
  • Flex for smooth travel with fully flexible and refundable tickets

In short, when booking the flights and selecting the ticket type, it is important to pay attention to the flexibility of the selected ticket type. Our travel extras are then available to further tailor the journey even after the ticket has been purchased.

At the same we get to launch the Business Light ticket type; the Business Light fare is an affordable choice that comes with the Business Class comfort and service but without lounge access, onboard wi-fi, priority services or checked baggage.

There will also be some changes in the fare benefits which also take place on the 15th of June. The most notable change is the change and cancellation rule change for the Classic fare; starting from 15th of June, the Classic fare can be changed without a penalty, but it will become non-refundable. The Flex fare is then the fully flexible and refundable option without any penalties, but the complimentary airport priority services will be removed from the Economy Flex fares.

Customers who have purchased or purchase their tickets latest on the 14th of June 2021 will travel with their original tickets without any changes required. All the benefits will be included in their original tickets as well.

As communicated already on 3rd of June on Finnair Easy’s Agency News, the criteria how the ticket type benefits are recognized has now also changed. Any ticket type related benefits are recognized only from the ticket type – not from the booking class or travel class. This change comes with one major rule of thumb; always price a booking first before confirming any benefits to the customer.

More information about the ticket types and their benefits can be found in Easy under Reservation & Ticketing -> Fares & Rules.
