Finnair Booking & Ticketing Policy

To ensure availability for our valued travel agent partners and to reduce unnecessary distribution costs, the Finnair Booking and Ticketing Policy was introduced in 2009. The intention is to enable smooth co-operation with agents and encourage better booking practices.

Finnair monitors all transactions to detect booking and ticketing abuses.

The latest version of the Finnair Booking & Ticketing Policy has been released in February 2015. To ensure all travel agents are aware of the updates we kindly ask each travel agency to go through the latest version of the Finnair Booking & Ticketing Policy and to fill in the below details.

  • The applicable travel agency hereby confirms that they have read and understood the latest version of the Finnair Booking & Ticketing Policy and agree to follow the given guidelines.

Finnair Light ticket type

Finnair introduced Light, the most economical ticket type for passengers travelling with hand baggage only, on 17 March 2015 for travel within Finland, Scandinavia and the Baltics. Light will be expanded on 5 May 2015 for sales and travel to all Finnair or Norra operated destinations in Europe and the Middle East (excluding Russia).

Finnair wants to ensure that the customer is properly informed about the baggage allowance of the Light ticket type and therefore it will be launched as a private fare under a pricing code (account code) for the eligible distributors only.

In order for the travel agency to gain access to the Light ticket type they will have to meet the requirements stated below.

Requirements for access to Light ticket type

  • The applicable travel agency (distribution details mentioned below) wants to have access to Finnair Light Ticket Type and hereby confirm the ability to inform customer about the baggage allowance during the booking process before issuing the ticket.
