Latest update: The political strike will continue until 07 April 2024

Several trade unions in Finland announced a political strike on 11-31 March 2024. The strike will affect, among other things, fuel distribution in Finland. On 20 March 2024 it was announced that the political strike will continue until 31 March 2024, and again on 27 March that the strike will continue until 07 April 2024. According to the latest information, there will be no impact on Finnair flights as of 22 March 2024.

To mitigate the impacts of the strike to our customers, some of Finnair’s long-haul flights on 11-21 March 2024 were operated with a planned refueling stopover during the journey, and therefore, the flight time was longer than normal.

These ongoing political industrial actions are not related to Finnair, and we do our best to minimise the impacts on our customers' travel plans, if any other strike related disruptions occur.

The normal ticket conditions apply for the time being.

We will update the latest information in this news. We are sorry for any inconvenience and uncertainty this situation causes to you and our customers.

If a customer’s journey is disrupted, Finnair will update the PNR/ticket and contact the customer personally via SMS and/or e-mail. To receive Finnair’s messages, please make sure that customers’ contact information on bookings is up to date.
