Extra seat for passenger (EXST)

An extra seat may be booked when more space is needed for passenger’s personal comfort. For an additional seat for transporting special baggage in cabin, please see instructions on Cabin Baggage for Passenger (CBBG).

Extra seat can only be confirmed on AY operated and marketed flights. Extra seats are not possible on interline connections with other carriers.

The same airfare will be charged for the additional seat as for the passenger itself. Only published fares without discount may be applied and taxes will be exempted for the extra seat. YR and YQ charges must be collected twice on the routes where applicable. For Finnish domestic fares the value-added tax (VAT) must be collected.

The passenger and the extra seat will be issued on one ticket.

Extra seat will not increase baggage allowance so the allowance of one ticket in the chosen fare type applies.

Window or the middle seat will be booked for the passenger. Due to security reasons aisle or exit seat may not be used. Extra seats are always side-by-side, frontal extra seat is not possible.

In case of cancellation, the ticketed fare conditions will apply also for the whole ticket including the extra seat charge.

Seat belt extenders

Seats with airbag safety belts may vary by aircraft type and version. If customer needs a seat belt extender, please contact Finnair Agent Help Desk beforehand so we can pre-seat customer to a suitable seat.
