Changes in EU regulations will affect liquid restrictions in carry-on baggage as of 1 September 2024

Operational news

As of 1 September 2024, as per the new regulation published by the European Commission, the size of the liquid containers in carry-on baggage is restricted to a maximum of 100ml packages at all European airports, including Helsinki Airport. The customer is still allowed to bring up to 2 liters of liquids per passenger if the customer starts their journey from Helsinki Airport, provided that the individual packages don’t exceed 100ml maximum.

The change does not affect transfer passengers at Helsinki Airport, liquids in checked-in baggage or Finavia’s network airports in Finland. You can find information about security checks at other airports on the respective airport's websites.
