Border control will be reintroduced at Italy's internal borders on 5-18 June 2024 due to the G7 summit in Brindisi, Italy. The temporary closure of internal borders does not affect Finnair flights. Internal borders are the borders between countries in the Schengen Area. There is no change in entry requirements to Italy.

If the customer travels to Italy on 5-18 June 2024, advise the customer to prepare for a border check when crossing the internal border, and to make sure that they have the required travel document with themselves. To smoothen the arrival in Italy, the customer can add their travel document details when checking in online or in Finnair app. Online check-in for flights to Italy opens 36 hours before the departure.

You can find more information on European Comission’s webpage.

If a customer’s journey is disrupted, Finnair will update the PNR/ticket and contact the customer personally via SMS and/or e-mail. To receive Finnair’s disruption messages, please make sure that customers’ contact information on bookings is up to date.
