Finnair prepaid bag codes to be changed by March 2025

Update 26mar25: The change of prepaid bag codes will go live 1 April 2025. SSR PDBG will remain available in the service catalogue and to be used for rebookings only. Please use correct sequence number for new prepaid bags (ABAG for 1^st bag, BBAG for 2^nd and CBAG for 3^rd and subsequent bags). It will no longer be possible to sell any prepaid baggage for codeshare flights, all flights must be both marketed and operated by Finnair.

 

We are going to change the prepaid bag code and migrate to baggage C type filing by March 2025. There is an industry deadline for all the airlines to migrate latest in November 2025. 

Finnair will replace the current SSR PDBG C/0AA prepaid bag code with the following codes:

SSR                     RFIC                   RFISC                 Commercial name                                             

ABAG                  C                         0CC                    1st Prepaid bag                                                     

BBAG                  C                         0CD                    2nd Prepaid bag                                                     

CBAG                  C                         0CE                    3rd and subsequent Prepaid bags                   

The new codes will be available for sales in ancillary catalogue / service list. The actual go live date will be  communicated later. 

We kindly ask you to check with your own sales channel provider that this change is supported by them and that they can make the possible adjustments needed on time.
