Finnair celebrated its 25th anniversary of joining the oneworld alliance 1 September 2024. The alliance was founded on 1 February 1999 by American Airlines, British Airways, Cathay Pacific and Qantas, and Finnair joined the alliance later that year, together with Iberia.

Today, the alliance has 13 members, and its network serves more than 900 destinations in 170 territories with hundreds of airport lounges.
