Changes in Finnair traffic plan for summer 2025
Operational news
Latest update: Additional changes to our summer 2025 traffic program will be published on 10 April 2025. Please see the changes below.
We have updated our traffic plan for the summer season on 30 March – 25 October 2025. The changes include flight cancellations and schedule changes. Unfortunately, we have had to cancel some of the summer flights due to a temporary lack of resources during the busiest summer season. Customers can choose a new route from Finnair or apply for a refund of the ticket price when the flight is cancelled.
The most significant changes published on 10 April 2025 are:
Finnair cancels some flights scheduled from 1 June to 11 August 2025. We will cancel 70 long-haul and 160 narrow-body flights. Sixty-nine long-haul flights are to North America (Dallas, Seattle, Chicago, JFK, Los Angeles). The cancellations will affect individual flights on different routes. Similarly, cancelled narrow-body flights are individual flights to several different destinations. In the summer, Finnair operates more than 300 flights a day.
We are truly sorry about the harm and inconvenience these changes may cause to customers’ travel plans.
All the schedule changes and cancellations are expected to be processed and customers notified on 10 April 2025. After a PNR is processed, you will be able to see the suggested alternative flight for the affected passenger(s).
Finnair will propose a new connection to the customer and automatically update the ticket. If there are changes to the flight, Finnair will contact customer personally via SMS and/or email.
In case the new schedule is not suitable for the customer, the SSR OTHS INVOL element in the booking permits one further free involuntary change and/or cancellation as per the guidelines below.
For bookings made via NDC: same policy applies and for booking handling contact our Agent Help Desk by clicking on the chat icon at the bottom right corner of the page (select NDC Support) for the change or cancellation.
