Name correction

Name correction can be conveniently handled via chatbot, especially when departure is in more than 72 hours. To use that option, open chat from the bottom right corner and you can find Name change or correction for an existing ticket as one of the default buttons. The chat will guide you through the whole process. Chat is open for name corrections 24/7. 

The flight ticket is an official document, wherein the passenger´s name must be an exact match with the name in their travel document (passport). In case of misspellings, the passenger’s name needs to be corrected. The name correction can be authorized by Finnair Agent Help Desk.

NOTE! With some airlines (for example JL, QR, AF) there might be a technical limitation to modify name element, even if the flight is booked with AY code. Our Agent Help Desk will provide you more details in such cases.

Please note, in case of multiple AY tickets on same PNR name correction fee will apply per ticket. Name correction fee can be collected either before or after contacting Finnair Agent Help Desk. Please keep in mind that the fee must be collected on the same day as the name is updated in the PNR.

Name correction fee can be collected either before or after contacting Finnair Agent Help Desk, as long as it’s done on the same day as the name is updated in the PNR.

  1. Collect the name correction fee on EMD-S NACO (Sub code (RFISC) is D/225)
    1. Creation of SCV element: IUAYNN1NACOLONHEL
    2. Create TSM-P
      1. TMC/VAY/L4 (line number where SVC-element is)
      2. Add fee, coupon value & form of payment (example amount 30): 
        TMI/F30/CV-30/FP-CASH 
        (if name correction of FI domestic ticket 10% VAT need to be separated: TMI/F27.27/X2.73YFGO/CV-27.27/FP-CASH)
      3. Add issued in connection with information: 
        TMI/IC-TKT1054444333222
    3. Issue EMD
  2. If the PNR includes frequent flyer number, the FQTV line needs to be removed before name correction.
  3. Contact Finnair Agent Help Desk via chat and by selecting option “Name change or correction for an existing ticket” and follow the steps. For departures in less than 72 hours, make sure to select “Departure closer than 72h” in the chat or give us a call.
  4. After we have received all the necessary information (primarily via chat), we will 
    - add an FO line for name correction
    - delete the FA line and update the passenger name element 
    - add an authorization for name correction
  5. Once you have received confirmation from Finnair to proceed, add "Name correction" to the FE element and prepare TST for reissue. Please remember to add the frequent flyer number again before ticket issuance.
  6. Re-issue the ticket (0eur re-issue).
  1. Create a new PNR, original booking class may be used. 
  2. Collect the name correction fee on EMD-S NACO and insert document number in as OSI element OS AY EMD 1058201141535 NAME CORRECTION FEE. Element to be used depends on GDS. 
  3. Price the PNR, old fare can be used (manual pricing permitted). 
  4. In case of manual pricing, add "original first issue DDMMMYY" to the FE element. 
  5. Issue a new ticket. 
  6. Contact Finnair Agent Help Desk via chat at the bottom right corner of this page and select option “Name change or correction for an existing ticket” and follow the steps. For departures in less than 72 hours, make sure to select “Departure closer than 72h” in the chat or give us a call
  7. After we have received all the necessary information (primarily via chat), we will 
    - add an authorization for manual pricing: SR OTHS ZZ-MANUAL PRICING DUE TO NAME CORRECTION AUTH BY XX 
    - send you a confirmation with an authorization to refund the original ticket 
  8. Cancel the original booking and proceed to refund the original ticket.

AY through fare is used:

  1. Create a new PNR (original booking class may be used if available on the day of the new booking). 
  2. Collect the name correction fee on EMD-S NACO and insert document number in an OSI element OS AY EMD 1058201141535 NAME CORRECTION FEE. 
  3. Issue a new ticket. If original booking class is available then old fare can be used (manual pricing permitted). In case of manual pricing add “original first issue DDMMMYY” to the FE element. Note: If other airline’s original booking class is not available, new booking class and fare applicable at the date of the new booking shall be used. 
  4. Contact Finnair Agent Help Desk via chat at the bottom right corner of this page and select option “Name change or correction for an existing ticket” and follow the steps. For departures in less than 72 hours, make sure to select “Departure closer than 72h” in the chat or give us a call
  5. After we have received all the necessary information (primarily via chat), we will 
    - add an authorization for manual pricing: SR OTHS ZZ-MANUAL PRICING DUE TO NAME CORRECTION AUTH BY XX 
    - send you a confirmation with an authorization to refund the original ticket against new ticket and name correction fee. 
  6. Cancel the original booking and proceed to refund the original ticket.

Combination fare (AY fare + OAL fare) is used:

  1. Create a new PNR (booking class available on the day of the new booking). 
  2. Collect the name correction fee on EMD-S NACO and insert document number in an OSI element OS AY EMD 1058201141535 NAME CORRECTION FEE of the old PNR. 
  3. Issue a new ticket, using fare applicable at the date of ticket issue. 
  4. Contact Finnair Agent Help Desk via chat at the bottom right corner of this page and select option “Name change or correction for an existing ticket” and follow the steps. For departures in less than 72 hours, make sure to select “Departure closer than 72h” in the chat or give us a call
  5. After we have received all the necessary information (primarily via chat), we will  send you a confirmation with an authorization to refund the original ticket against new ticket and name correction fee
  6. Cancel the original booking and proceed to refund the original ticket.
